The investment with a total capacity of 20 MW is located in Nowa Brzeznica in the Lódz Province. Electricity will flow into the grid from here in early 2025.

The Nowa Brzeznica wind farm will provide energy to 19 thousand. households. The farm will consist of a total of 9 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2.2MW. The new project is ready for construction, which means it has all the necessary approvals and permits.

- In line with what we announced in the new strategy, we are implementing an ambitious program of investing in renewable energy sources (RES). Our specialists are looking for places where it is worth and can build wind farms or photovoltaic farms - explains Pawel Szczeszek , CEO of TAURON Polska Energia. - In the perspective of 2025, we plan to double the ownership of wind energy, and in 2030 we want to have 1100 MW installed in this technology - adds the President of TAURON.

In June this year, TAURON purchased the Mierzyn wind farm project in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Thanks to this investment, the Group will increase its green capacity by almost 60 MW.

Both investments are carried out by TAURON Zielona Energia, which is responsible in the TAURON Group for the preparation of renewable energy investments, project acquisitions, and also conducts investment supervision over photovoltaic farms and onshore wind farms.

- TAURON Zielona Energia is a developer company, focuses on developing or taking over renewable energy projects, supervising construction, and after obtaining the use permit, put TAURON Ekoenergia into operation - says Wojciech Wieclawek , President of the Management Board of TAURON Zielona Energia.

Until recently, TAURON had nine wind farms, i.e. Zagórze, Wicko, Marszewo, Lipniki, Sniatowo, Mogilno, Inowroclaw, Dobrzyn, Goldap, where electricity is produced by 182 wind turbines with a total capacity of 380.75 MW. The company has just completed the construction of two more wind farms in the Warminsko-Mazurskie and Lódzkie voivodships, ie Majewo and Piotrków, increasing the total capacity of its wind farms by 36 MW.

Wind megawatts
In 2019, TAURON doubled its wind capacity through the acquisition of five wind farms in northern Poland with a total capacity of over 180 MW.

In December 2020, the company purchased a wind farm project with a target capacity of 30 MW. The power plant located in the municipalities of Wolbórz and Moszczenica in the district of Piotrków will consist of a total of 15 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2 MW. The farm is scheduled to produce 90 GWh per year, which will meet the electricity demand of approximately 35,000 households.

In June 2021, TAURON also purchased a special purpose vehicle with rights to a construction project, the task of which is to build a wind farm with a total capacity of 6 MW. The investment is carried out in the municipality of Milejewo, Elblag district in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
