Total US coal exports (excluding Canada) rose to a seven-month high in November 2022, up 0.5 Mt year-on-year to 6.4 Mt, official data show. The increase came as shipments to Europe jumped 1.3 Mt to 2.9 Mt, including a rise in coking and steam coal by 0.7 Mt and 0.6 Mt to a respective 1.6 Mt and 1.3 Mt. Shipments to Japan rose 0.2 Mt year-on-year to 0.8 Mt however, exports to China dropped 1.0 Mt to 0.2 Mt.
