The National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) promoted the themes of Local Content and Biofuels in the second Edition of the Business and Connectivity Forum , which took place in Benguela on the 16th and 17th of June, in an initiative of the Media Nova Group.
The Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Alé Fernandes, opened the event, challenging Angolan businessmen to take advantage of the potential and advantages of the Lobito Corridor, which includes the Benguela railway and Porto from Lobito.
And during the course of the work, the coordinator of the Local Content Center at ANPG, Maura Nunes, who addressed an audience that amounted to hundreds, including representatives of the business class with an interest in the Lobito corridor, communication professionals, government officials and various entities , reinforced the message regarding the role of the National Concessionaire in this field.
This role, advanced the Coordinator, is based on two main objectives, namely, ensuring the increase of Angolan companies in the oil sector and the preservation of jobs for Angolan staff
“In 2022, we had a hiring volume of US$9 billion. Of this amount, four percent were raised by Angolan companies and around 75% were companies incorporated under Angolan law, which are companies whose corporate composition includes national members and registered in Angola”, he said.
In the field of Biofuels, Suzete Iombo and Áureo Cruz, technicians from the said nucleus at ANPG, presented green energies as a future contributor to the increase in GDP, considering that one of the macro objectives of this project is the export of these energies, making Angola a reference “bank” for the African continent, not leaving aside the goal of decarbonization in the oil sector.
