Rovnag Abdullayev Rovnag Abdullayev was born in Nakhchivan city on April 3, 1965. In 1982, he entered the Industrial and Civil Construction Engineering Department of Azerbaijan Construction Engineering Institute. In 1983-1985s, he served in the army. He was transferred to the Construction Engineering Institute in 1985, from which he graduated in 1989. That year Mr. Abdullayev started working at Neft Dashlari (Oil Rocks).

In 1990, Mr. Abdullayev took a position as an engineer in the Construction Department of the 28 May Oil and Gas Production Department. In 1991, Mr. Abdullayev became the Head of the Production Technology Department of the Construction and Assembling Management #3 of the Khazardenizneftgazinshaat (Caspian Sea Oil and Gas Construction) Trust. In 1994, he worked as a chief engineer of the Construction and Assembling Management #3 of the Caspian Sea Oil and Gas Construction Trust.

In 1997, Mr. Abdullayev became the Head of the Trust. On March 31, 2003, he was appointed the Director of Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery. In the elections held on November 6, 2005, he was elected to Parliament. Mr. Abdullayev was appointed President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic on December 9, 2005. On March 14, 2008 he was appointed President of the AFFA (Azerbaijan Football Federations’ Association). On November 7, 2010, he was re-elected to Parliament. Mr. Abdullayev is married; has a son and a daughter.
