Renergo expects additional funding through crowdinvesting

The energy transition project developer Renergo intends to raise a low single-digit million amount via the sustainable crowd investing platform Wiwin. "We have a project pipeline of solar parks and battery storage systems that we could not fully develop with our own resources and would therefore have to market at an early stage. With the financing round, we will cover the development costs of the planned projects and also want to delve deeper into other areas, such as wind energy," said founders and managing directors Markus Arnold and Peter Waldmann.

Renergo is therefore deliberately relying on crowd investing. For Peter Waldmann, it is the most democratic form of investing. Because: “The energy transition is centrally desired and promises fair local value creation. If we can now directly reward the trust of our supporters in the next step of growth, that is a logical development.”

Private individuals can invest in the Germany-wide project development company via WIWIN from an amount of 250 euros. The digital security runs until December 31, 2029 and has an expected maximum interest rate of 9.24%*.

Own geoinformation system helps with the selection of suitable areas
Renergo specializes in the development of solar parks, energy storage facilities and wind farms. The company discovers suitable areas using its own geoinformation system. Topography, exclusion areas and the area backdrop specified by the EEG are checked, as is the feed-in capacity into the power grid. Acquisition agents are currently securing areas in North Rhine-Westphalia, Brandenburg, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg and then start the approval process. After successful approval and when the project is ready for construction, Renergo has so far sold the projects to institutional investors.

This is set to change through crowd investing at WIWIN: “The next logical step for Renergo is to keep projects in the portfolio for longer in order to build them ourselves in the future and, if necessary, operate them,” plans Markus Arnold.

The Renergo team currently consists of twelve experts from the areas of analysis, land acquisition, project management and finance. The company is now working on more than 25 projects with a total output of around 300 megawatts. In March of this year, Renergo announced the founding of the joint venture strrom GmbH together with ROM Technik (Rud. Otto Meyer Technik GmbH & Co. KG). "In the joint venture, we are working closely with our partner from the Zech Group, a large construction company and expert in building technology. We generate the electricity on the roofs and the smart building technology controls the optimal supply through the use of storage systems," explains Peter Waldmann.
