Iran says it has prepared Siri Oil and Gas Terminal for berthing European oil tankers. Acting manager of Siri Oil and Gas Terminal said the terminal berths Chinese oil tankers for the time being and is ready to receive European vessels as well.
European ships dock at Kharg terminal for the time being and Siri will add to Irans loading capacity, said Hamid Reza Karimi.
"Parallel with the removal of international sanctions and the rising traffic of foreign tankers in Irans oil tankers, Siri Oil and Gas Terminal can berth European and Asian tankers," he said.
Siri terminal can store up to 4.6mb of crude oil and a monthly average of three vessels dock at the terminal, however, it has the capacity of receiving 10 vessels every month. 30 to 36 ships can berth at the terminal every year.
Karimi also said no oil has been stored in the tankers near Siri Isand.
