POGC Starts Construction of Mechanized Sulfur Storage Warehouses in Tombak

Support plans director informed that Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) has started constructing two mechanized sulfur storage warehouses with the capacity of 44 thousands of sulfur in export-service port of Tombak.

Concreting operations have been started when dynamic density and ground readiness tests were implemented,SeyyedMohiadinJafari was quoted by public relations as saying.

Jafari stated that these operations are being implementing with the length of 1775 meters at eastern arm of export-service port of Tombak. He continued that mentioned warehouses as well as export terminal are aimed at exporting sulfur by 5 thousands to 50 thousands tons vessels and with daily loading capacity of 1400 tons.

Jafari said “Two LPG docks construction are another important agenda of the employer. Thus, a great deal of hydrocarbon resources will be determined for exportwith the completion of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)’s strategic plan. Moreover, propane and butane of the phases located at second site, namely Pars II, are loaded and exported through the mentioned terminals.”

Tombak port, with the maximum depth of 37 meters, is the deepest port of Iran and even MiddleEast. It involves two LPG export docks each of which with loading capacity about 5 to 60 tons of liquefied gas, sulfur export with loading capacity of 2000 tons per hour, twostorage warehouse of sulfur with the capacity of 44000 tons, two western and eastern breakwater, residential and administrative site.

Construction contracts of this port values $286 million and the project performance was assigned to Khatam Headquarter in 2013. POGC acts as representative of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the employer of the project.
