Iraq Ministry of Oil to Allocate 37 Million Liters of Gas Oil to Agricultural Lands and Farmers

In implementation of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, and in confirmation of what is included in the government program to support the service, industrial and agricultural sectors, the Oil Products Distribution Company is implementing its annual plan to equip the agricultural areas included in the agricultural plan in the Middle Euphrates Governorates (Babil, Najaf, Karbala, Diwaniyah, Muthanna) and the governorates of Wasit and Nineveh, with the designated shares of gas oil (kerosene), amounting to (37) million liters.

The company's general manager, Mr. Hussein Talib, said that the company continues to support the agricultural sector by supplying fuel to farmers, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Directorates of Agriculture in the governorates, indicating that the quantities are supplied at the official subsidized price of (400) dinars / liter, in support from the Ministry of Oil for the vital agricultural sector, which represents an important local economic wealth for the country.

For his part, the Director of the Supply Authority at the Distribution Company, Mr. Falah Hassan, said that the quantities of gas oil are prepared according to the area of ??agricultural land in each governorate, indicating that an amount of (27) million liters is allocated to Nineveh Governorate, (5) million liters to the governorates of the Middle Euphrates, (4.5) million and five hundred thousand liters to Wasit Governorate, explaining that determining the quantity and allocating it for the purpose of preparation is according to the measurement of the "dunum" as a land area, or by relying on the controls for preparing mechanisms, pumps, sprinklers, and agricultural tractors, and according to the farmer's desire.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Oil, through the Distribution Company, is keen to continue providing and preparing petroleum derivatives for the agricultural and industrial sectors in an effort to improve its reality and performance and production, especially in the current period that is witnessing a boom in national production of all kinds.
